Dr Naveen Rao is a Consultant Paediatrican and has been at Wythenshawe Hospital since 2009. His areas of expertise include Paediatric Respiratory Medicine, Allergy, General Paeds and Medical Education. He is the Clinical Lead for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital managed clinical services and also leads the Cystic Fibrosis and Asthma service at Wythenshawe Hospital. The Paediatric CF Service at Wythenshawe was awarded the first National Quality improvement award by the National CF Registry. He is a member of the British Paediatric Respiratory Society (BPRS), British Society of Clinical Allergy and Immunology (BSACI) and European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI). He is also an active member of the Northwest Allergy Network, The North West Cystic fibrosis network and the CF transition network. He is also a member of the Greater Manchester and East Cheshire strategic clinical networks and the national CYP Asthma Data and Digital working group.
Dr Helen Evans-Howells qualified with honours from Southampton University in 2005 and then trained as a GP; completing this in 2015. Helen became interested in allergy due to her own experiences of managing a child with milk and nut allergies. She undertook the Masters in Allergy at Southampton University and qualified with distinction in 2018.
Helen is a portfolio GP working at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital and as a frailty visiting GP for four surgeries.
After working with the paediatric allergy team in Southampton children’s Hospital for 4.5 years, Helen now runs a private allergy clinic – Dr Helen Allergy – and lectures extensively across the UK.
Helen was the previous chair for the primary care group of BSACI and is now a trustee for Anaphylaxis UK.
